Hello Visitor
Newsletter - Spring 2025
All of a sudden we find ourselves at the beginning of a new gardening year – I hope you’ve all weathered the winter well and are looking forward to getting out into the garden again, the recent sun has certainly been encouraging but the chilly winds and cold nights have kept my enthusiasm within sensible bounds!
It’s been "all move" for me again during the quiet months and the nursery is now only 10 minutes away from home, tucked away on a farmyard in Lytchett Minster. This new home is just around the corner from The Courtyard Craft Centre where I have already started holding pop-up stalls when the weather and time allow. The Centre boasts a very popular and delicious café along with a farm shop, pottery, some lovely craft shops and lots more. As the season progresses, I am hoping to have a permanent presence at the Centre although options for this are still being looked at. In the meantime I will endeavour to post on Facebook and Instagram when I will be popping up, for those who don’t use social media (and I struggle with it!) then feel free to get in touch directly if you want to know when I’ll be there.
I have a full season of events booked and these are on the website, lots of old favourites but some new ones too. The first outings this year are this coming weekend...
Friday 21st at Kingston Maurward College near Dorchester
Saturday 22nd at Digby Hall, Sherborne
Please see the Shows page for all events. I’ve no official events the following weekend (Mothering Sunday) so if the weather is kind you’ll find me at the Courtyard at least one of the days if not both. Then it's off to Forde Abbey, which is always highly popular and a beautiful venue too...
Saturday 5th April at Forde Abbey, Chard
This season will no doubt prove to be very exciting as I find my feet at my new growing ground and also venture into the possibilities at The Courtyard Centre so hopefully I shall have lots of on-going news for you all.
Even with the chilly temperatures, some of the plants are already starting to wake up from their winter slumbers – Pulmonarias already have some flowers and the Dicentra leaves are beginning to unfurl which is always a joy and there’s lots of buds coming on the Tulips along with the later flowering Daffodils.
I am very much looking forward to being out and about once again, meeting friends new and old at the events and the Courtyard Centre, so do make sure you come and say hello.
As the webshop has been closed down do please feel free to call or drop us a line anytime and we'll see what we can do.
Happy Gardening
Helen
